Post Lights: The Perfect Lawn Accessory for Curb Appeal

Illuminate your property and light up pathways with new designer post lights. Post lights are the quintessential option for lighting up your lawn or showing off your landscaping after the sun sets. Not only do post lights complete the look of your home, but they also serve as an effective crime-deterrent.

Choose from a selection of solar powered, hardwired, and photocell technology features. With a variety of styles, sizes, and finishes, the only difficult decision will be which design you want the most.

The Illuminating Benefits of Light Posts

There are numerous benefits to installing a light post on your property. A series of post lights can create landscape lighting that shows off attractive features of your outdoor space. Use singular post lights for pathways, porches, gardens, or patio spaces and benefit from the ambient nighttime lighting.

Outdoor lighting can also keep your home safer during the night. With one or more lights illuminating your lawn and walkways, you can deter potential prowlers and animals and stop them from loitering or trekking through your property.

Energy Types to Consider

There are different types of energy you can use to power our selection of post lights, including solar power, photocell, and hardwire.

Solar powered light posts are popular because they don't require any direct hardwiring to install. Solar powered light posts can be placed anywhere on your property, where the sun will power the bulb. Solar lighting offers unlimited placement options and does not require any existing electrical wires.

Post lights with photocell technology are an excellent option for automatic lighting systems. Photocells are a circuit feature used in lighting fixtures that use "dusk to dawn" operation. A photocell reacts to the ambient light around it and automatically turns on or off, or changes the strength of its lighting depending on the ambient brightness levels.

Add Charm with Various Styles and Shapes

Complement your space by choosing a fixture that has a matching shape and style. Choose from a variety of style and themes, including but not limited to: traditional, rustic, contemporary, farmhouse chic, industrial, craftsman, Spanish, and more.

The glass light shades come in a variety of charming shapes such as: rectangles, bell, jar, cylinders, dome, bowl, globes, and more. The unique variety of shade styles are designed with different themes in mind.

Different Mounts and What They Mean

While the name "post light" appears to refer to stand-alone options, there are actually many mounting types to choose from. Choose from single- and multi-head, hanging, or pier-mount.

Single head

Single-head post lights are recognizable as a traditional post used by most homeowners. This post is topped with a single lighting head of various designs. This style has the benefit of fitting in with nearly any exterior theme, which makes them the most popular light post in use today.

Multi-head

Multi-head post lights are similar to single-head posts, except that they use a mount with multiple lights that can illuminate a greater area around it. Similar to single-posts, multi-head light posts can be hardwired, contain photocell technology, and are available in solar powered options. This post style also offers an added sense of elevated charm to your space.

Hanging

Hanging post lights are a unique lighting choice that offers a superior display for your home and lawn. These posts typically use a single post that is set into the ground, then topped with one or more horizontal arms, which support the hanging or mounting of one or more lights. There are other hanging posts that don't use an actual post, but instead mount to the ceiling or wall of an exterior space.

Hanging post lights can be found in a variety of color styles and materials that range from traditional to rustic and everything in between. If you're looking for a unique style, we recommend hanging post lights as an alternative that will add a sense of comfort and welcome to your residence.

Pier mount

Pier mount lights are among the more interesting options in mounted lighting. Pier mounted lights are a beautiful option for homeowners who wish to place their lighting fixture on a surface other than a post.

For example, many pier mount lights are placed atop brick and concrete columns, as well as other flat surfaces. This mount eliminates the need for a post, which makes it a popular choice among homeowners who want something a little bit different than the typical post light.
